About Helix / HX Stomp / HX Effects Patches

Hi! Here is what you need to know about these patches.

Firstly, make sure your device is updated to the latest firmware.

The purchase links on the patch pages direct you to PayPal screen. The download link is shown after you have completed the payment. You can directly download from that link right after the payment is complete.

You will get a .zip file which contains all the patches in a “pack”. I have multiple patches in each pack (as you see in the videos) and I compress them into a singe .rar file for downloads. Use WinRAR (or Unzip – RAR ZIP 7Z Unarchiver on Mac) to unpack (extract) these files from the archive.

The file format of the patches are .hlx. You need the HX Edit software (you can download from Line 6 website). This software helps you to edit your patches and import downloaded patches. Be careful not to overwrite factory or user patches when importing patches if you want to keep them.

These patches are compatible with any Helix / HX device (since the latest firmware made the patches cross compatible). I make them on HX Stomp and include ampless versions of each one to make sure they work on HX Effects.

For any issues/questions (or discounts if you’re interested in getting more than 4 packs of patches), my email address can be found here.

FX Loop Patches for Line 6 Helix, HX Stomp, HX Effects

19 patches for utilizing the FX Loop in different ways to get more out of your existing pedals.

Number of blocks used in each patch varies but most are the FX Loop blocks and the amp+cab block with occasional 1 or 2 extra. There are plenty of blocks available BUT Loop Panner patch uses 2 amp+cab blocks so there isn’t much DSP left on that one.

Before getting these make sure you already know how to connect your pedals to the FX Loop and make them work with your Helix/HX device. Also, to get the most out of these patches you might need a TRS to TS splitter of some kind (like the one I’m using in the video). If you don’t have any I suggest checking out the EBS ICY-30 or Hosa YPP-136. I have both and they do the job well. Even if you don’t get these patches I recommend getting one of these cables as I’m sure they’ll come in handy.

Update your device if necessary. Check with the HX Edit software.

Glitch and Stutter Patches for Line 6 Helix, HX Stomp, HX Effects

16 Glitch and Stutter Patches for Line 6 Helix, HX Stomp, and HX Effects.

This pack includes 3 patches I released before. If you got this Glitchy Delay & Reverb patches before, and would like to get the newer pack with the other 13 patches, send me an email and I’ll deduct the amount you paid before.

I’m using tap tempo to change the speed of the effects throughout the video. I included slow and fast settings of most of the patches.

Number of blocks used by the patches (without amp or cab blocks) are: Stutter Delay: 3, Stutter Octave: 4, Stutter Filter: 3, Stutter Random: 4, Stutter Random 2: 4, Digi Glitch: 2, Momentary Glitch Out: 4, Momentary Glitch Out FX: 3, DD Glitch: 2, DD Glitch Reverse: 2, DD Glitch Filter: 2, Random Reverse: 2, Random Reverse 2: 3. I tried to keep them simple to allow more space for experimentation on your end.

Boutique Reverb Patches for Line 6 Helix, HX Stomp, HX Effects

I attempted to create patches that sound like some of my favorite reverb pedals. The result is this pack of 11 distinct patches (some of them have multiple modes of a pedal in a single patch so there are more than 11 effects here). The pedals/effects that inspired these patches include Strymon Big Sky (Choir), Empress Reverb (Beer), Old Blood Noise Endeavors Dark Star and Procession, Chase Bliss Audio Dark World (Mod), AC Noises AMA, Earthquaker Devices Afterneath and Transmisser, Death By Audio Reverberation Device, Walrus Audio Slo (Dark). There is also a patch named Swirling Room that sounds like a reverb of a rotating room. It is not inspired by a particular pedal. I created it a while ago and wanted to add to this pack as an extra.

I’ve been working on this pack of patches on and off since I got my HX Stomp, listening to lots of demos and tweaking little details. They are obviously not exactly the same as the pedal/effect I was attempting to sound like (since I have limited resources to work with within the Helix/HX units) but I did my best to make them sound as close as possible. I hope you enjoy them!

Feel free to tweak parameters such as mix, decay, tone, depth, rate etc to your taste as you would tweak any reverb pedal. Also feel free to tweak any other parameter and see what you come up with. As long as you have the files, you can always return to the original state of the patch.

The number of blocks used by patches are (without Amp+Cab block):
Swirling Room 3, AMA 4, Night Star 4, Proception 5, Bear Reverb 3, Transmission 4, Reverberator Device 3, Magic Cave 4, Gen:Verb 5, Dark Moon 3, Choir 5

TC Electronic Flashback 2 X4 Delay and Hall of Fame 2 X4 Reverb Demos (in stereo)

Here are the videos I made with the TC Electronic Flashback 2 X4 Delay and Hall of Fame 2 X4 Reverb. Both of these are stereo pedals with multiple effect modes, MASH switches, TonePrints and presets. Check out how they sound here:

Before diving into the TonePrint editor, I wanted to show what the Flashback 2 X4 can do. I’m not using the TonePrint app in this video. Just the pedal itself. I think this is how most people would use this pedal anyway. I included some of my favorite sounds as well as a quick run through of all delay modes (Analog, 2290, 2290 Mod, Dynamic, Crystal, Tape, Ping Pong, Lofi, and Reverse). A video with my TonePrints is on the way. I’ll put the link here when I post the video.

Hall of Fame 2 X4 Reverb is the most versatile and full featured reverb pedal from TC Electronic. It has a very simple physical interface but also has a deep editor with lots of parameters. Here are some of the sounds you can get by using the editor. These are very easy to create and you can see the most important parameters for each one on the screen. Some of them are straight up templates in the editor that I didn’t tweak at all. This is recorded in stereo so headphones are highly recommended.
